"zines and birthwork
motherhood and poetry
they are synonymous to me.
they are each acts
of love and creation
taking steps toward liberation."
- Brenda Montaño
On Sunday June 28th at 5 pm (PST) Brenda Montaño from @zineswithsol will lead:
Zines as Birth Stories:
The Power of DIY Creations to Rite Our Cuentos
This workshop is intended for all people who have experienced pregnancy (including partners), no matter the outcome, as well as birth workers. We want to honor the birth stories of those who have experienced miscarriage, still birth, abortion as well as full-term birth. Brenda will be sharing with us just what exactly zines are, how to make one and how birth stories transformed into zines can be used as a tool for healing.
Please bring a standard size paper (8.5 x 11 inches), a pair of scissors, something to write with and any other art supplies you feel called to use.
Will you join us?
Zoom information will be given upon registration.
