Thank you for your interest in this nature-based restorative retreat. This experience is designed to support your reconnection with self, community, your lineages and the natural world. This will be a highly experiential and immersive retreat for therapist seeking culturally grounded, embodied and spiritually informed approaches to grief care.
This highly experiential retreat invites you to practice the interventions as you learn, integrating heart, body, and spirit in ways that support both you and your clinical work. Through culturally centered mind-body practices, clinical teachings, art expression, group dialogue, and ritual, you will explore grief beyond pathology, honoring cultural wisdom and collective care.
Come restore yourself, deepen your clinical skills, and be in community with fellow Xicanx/Latine therapists.
Our retreat will take place on the beautiful mountain hills of Ojai, CA on Chumash territory.

It's about a 2 ½ hour drive from the Inland Empire, and about 1:30 minutes from Los Angles, CA. The nearest airport is Santa Barbara, about 34 miles from Ojai.
Accommodations:
This retreat includes shared yurt-style camping accommodations and shared outdoor space
You will be sharing a yurt style tent with 3 therapists per tent. Twin size inflatable beds will be available for rent at $25. Bring your own sleeping bag, blanket, and pillow and if you have your own cot or inflatable bed. You may also camp with your own tent if you wish to sleep solo.
All meals will be provided during the retreat.
We will be mindful to provide meatless, dairy free and gluten free options.

This retreat is restorative in nature and is not a substitute for therapy or crisis support.

Cancellation & Refund Policy
Your registration is confirmed once payment is received.
There are No Refunds.
If you are unable to attend the retreat after registering, you may choose one of the following options:
•Apply my registration fee as a credit toward four (4) individual 1:1 consultation sessions with Emilia, to be scheduled within an agreed-upon timeframe, or
•Transfer my retreat registration to a colleague or therapist friend who would benefit from this experience, with prior notice to the retreat organizers.
I understand that credits are non-transferable, have no cash value, and that any transferred registration is subject to approval to ensure alignment with the retreat container.

Emilia Ortega Jara, LCSW is the owner and clinical director of Corazón Counseling Service, and has been supporting the mental and emotional wellbeing of Latine/Chicanx communities for over 25 years as.a psychotherapist and cultural arts practitioner.
Emilia incorporates evidence-based psychotherapy techniques with ancestral Indigenous earth-based practices. Emilia facilitates rites of passage ceremonies from womb to tomb, honoring the sacred cycles of life and death.
