Now more than ever we are called to
remember the ways of our ancestors.
La Cultura Cura:
A Virtual Care Circle Series
highlights Indigenous/Xicanx healing ways.
For the entire month of May, we are bringing together our community
to share knowledge and wisdom that is centered in healing our whole selves--
mind, body and spirit.
Will you join us?
On Wednesday May 20th at 7pm Richard Quiroga & Elisa Nieblas, founders of R.O Indigenous Embrace, will facilitate Sweat Lodge Medicine & Teachings. This platica will discuss the community prayer lodge as a sacred space of healing where you can embrace the beauty and resiliency of an Indigenous way of life. Journey through the circle of teachings around the Medicine Wheel as well as learn the prayers of the four directions to connect mind, body, and spirit. The benefit from these natural ways of healing can bring clarity and support as you endure the challenges of life.
Zoom information will be given upon registration.
Richard Quiroga is Rumsen Ohlone from Monterey Bay in Northern California. Elisa Nieblas connects with her cultural roots through the Danza of the Mexica people. They currently live in Hesperia California where they founded the R.O. Indigenous Embrace non profit organization in 2017. They are the keepers of the land where they host a variety of gatherings and ceremonies including a monthly community prayer lodge where everyone is welcome.
"We are blessed to be part of a loving and very supportive community which has brought us much healing to our lives."
"R.O. Indigenous Embrace was born out of a deep love of this earth and the multitude of beautifully diverse creations it encompasses. Whether in the shape of human, plant, animal, ancestor, or spirit, it is the belief of indigenous people past and present, that these beings are ALL our relations. We spend our time reaching out to communities all across Southern California. We host community prayer lodges and bring the community together to connect to each other. We also speak at cultural events, schools, museums, genealogical societies, summer camps, and many more. If you're interested in hearing from us, we're interested in speaking. We believe education about our ancestors' history and experiences is the first step to understanding ourselves."
