Why this seminar/training?
Because there is nothing like this out there, a uniquely curated seminar for Xicanx/Latine therapists that explores and dives deep into the nuances (that most mainstream grief trainings and seminars leave out) of our particular cultural grief experiences as descendants of both colonizers and colonized people of Abya Yala- (The Americas).

Who is this seminar for? 
We invite mental health practitioners that work directly with the Xicanx/Latine community: Social Workers, Therapists, Case Managers, Psychologists, Death Doulas, Cultural Practitioners.

Week 2- Intergenerational Grief & manifestations in our Xicanx/Latine communities

Week 3- Integrative models of Grief Care

Week 4- Journey through (el laberinto del duelo)

Week 5- Culturally Centered Practices & Rituals

Week 6- Integration & Clinical Considerations


What is the format of this seminar? 
We will meet weekly on Wednesdays from 11am-1pm (PST) Virtually via Zoom for the 6 seminar sessions. Beginning October 7-November 11th 2026.

The first hour will be a more psycho-education learning process and the second hour will be an embodied integration practice and platica.

We highly recommend that you attend all sessions. We will only be recording the first hour of the seminar and not the integration embodied practice piece.

Investment for this seminar: 
$485 includes 6 group consultations session starting in January 2027-July 2027 

Payment plans available pay the first half of the cost upon registration and the second half 5 days before the training. Which looks like two payments of $242.50. Remember if you are in private practice this is an expense that could be deducted from your taxes. If you work for an agency, organization, or group practice they often have funding for trainings, you might want to ask if they can support/sponsor full or partial payment.

Emilia is founder and clinical director at Corazón Counseling Service and Yollotl Cuicatl Coaching & Guidance. With over 28 years of working in the mental health field, Emilia has been a longtime advocate for culturally and linguistically appropriate mental health services for the Latinx/Chicanx community and has worked with various social justice organization and community-based mental health agencies. Emilia highlights the importance of culture, ceremony and ritual throughout the work she facilitates, incorporating aspects of traditional indigenous wisdom and modern psychotherapy techniques. In addition to her psychotherapy practice, Emilia provides community training and workshops on various topics related to maternal mental health and facilitates rites of passage ceremonies from puberty to motherhood. Emilia is also a cultural practitioner and ceremonial Aztec dancer, living in harmony and connected to the land and elements of nature, being in ceremony every day, guided by her ancestors
